Dear Seeker.
The purpose of this written work is to inform you about the foundations and objectives of Gnostic Knowledge.
In it you will find explanations of the meaning of the words: "gnosis," "gnosticism" and "Gnostic" and their implications in art, philosophy, science, and transcendental mysticism in an eminently anthropological framework.
In this manner we may share with you an objective study of those prototypes and archetypes that are common to all people, races and cultures, arriving in this manner, at the original source of primeval knowledge which later became universal.
The return to this original point of departure is "gnosis," a synthesizing wisdom or doctrine that illuminated the ancient solar and serpentine civilizations.
"Gnosis" is the science of cosmic knowledge, the initiatic science of Janus, the Roman double-faced Deity, looking at opposite directions, as a symbol of the realization of Knowing and Being.
"Gnosis" is that eternal, cosmic principle concealed in the very depth of consciousness, as a very natural function of awakened conscience. It is a "perenne et universalis" philosophy that in each time and place robes itself in symbolism to transmit an impersonal and non-temporal truth, but which maintains a perfect correspondence with our earthly life.
Gnosis is revelation or unveiling, refined aspiration, conceptual synthesis, maximum attainment. Its method is introspection which leads us to direct knowledge concealed in the infinite intimacy of the human person.
From this only-begotten knowledge emanates the enormous theological, philosophical, artistic and symbolic similarity of the archaeological prototypes of the Aztec, Mayan, Inca, Egyptian, Greek, Persian civilizations, etc., as if all of them drank from the same original source.
We invite you to verify this pure science, where you will know the postulates which were preached and practiced by the solitary Jinas of Central Asia, Iohanes, Egyptian, Pythagorean ascetics, etc. This is the secret doctrine of the Knights of the Temple and their search of the Holy Grail, this is the living rock of Jacob; the lapiz electrix (Magnes) explained dialectically. This is the same doctrine of Anahuac, the initiatic wisdom of those who gave origin to our present race, conserving the ancient forms of the luminous, heliocentric, authentic tradition of solar consciousness.
Gnostic Foundations
" Gnosis is customarily interpreted as the search of an absolute and liberating knowledge."
Through dictionaries we can affirm today that the word "Gnosis" is Greek and that in a general sense simply means "knowledge." But in the most profound sense it has meant in many eras of humanity, the resurgence of a current linked to the explanation of the physical and metaphysical phenomena of man.
In a more descriptive manner, Theodotus identified Gnosis with the liberating knowledge of a series of matters: "What were we, what have we become, where were we, where have we been cast, where are we going, from what we liberate ourselves, what is birth, what is rebirth," (excerpt from Theodotus.) As an answer to these mysteries of existence, doctrinal development arises: man substantially tends towards union with the Absolute, the authentic and perfect, although ineffable; no then, due to specific destiny, man resides in exile in an imperfect world which imprisons and troubles him. The only path to liberation is knowledge of himself and the recognition of his separation from an ineffable and divine consciousness.
